We have been in business since 1989 and have been primarily focused on the development of single board computers used in various systems within the medical R&D arena. The micro processing units of the eighties were very slow, difficult to work with and very expensive by today's standards, however companies like Microchip® have changed the electronics landscape forever.
As embedded systems are now found in everything from toasters to automobiles, engineers are continually tasked with developing proof of concept or prototype systems using embedded designs. While the heart of an embedded project may be unique, the support systems required are not. Typical support systems include user interfaces such as keypads, LCD output and various communication types with PC's, just to name a few. Cognocent of the fact that much time was being spent designing and building the same support systems over and over again, we set out to create a modular development system that would allow intelligent support systems to be simply plugged-in, and then easily accessed by the controlling HOST PIC microprocessor. Spectro Technologies, Inc was formed specifically for the design and development of such products, these products would significantly reduce the time required for proof of concept through the prototyping phases of embedded systems. In February of 2004 we accomplished our goal and unveiled our new SpectroTECH line of products, these products save time, save money and simplify the development cycle for the engineer, educator, OEM's and hobbyist alike. We are committed to creating quality and cost effective products that reduce the effort required during the prototyping phase of PIC based system designs.
