SpectroICSPA has been specifically designed to facilitate the connection of the SpectroBUS18 system with various commercially available In-Circuit Serial Programmers. SpectroICSPA is powered from the SpectroBUS system and therefore requires no external power source.

.

Features:

  • SpectroICSPA is compatible with most In-Circuit Serial Programmers, including melabs Serial Programmer.
  • Program the SpectroBUS HOST PICmicro without first having to remove it from the SpectroBUS board.
  • Reduces the time required for the coding and programming process.
  • Ensures startup of the SpectroBUS HOST PICmicro is synchronized with all smart device modules after the programming and verification cycle.
  • Never have to recycle the SpectroBUS power before or after the programming cycle.
  • No jumpers or switches to set, prior to, or after the programming cycle.

In-Circuit Serial Programming allows the HOST PICmicro (the PIC inserted into the SpectroBUS U1 socket or SpectroZIF card) to be programmed in circuit without the need to remove it from the SpectroBUS board first. The SpectroICSPA board is much more than just an interface, in fact the SpectroICSPA has its own microprocessor that monitors the attached serial programmer and controls all Spectro device modules that are attached to the SpectroBUS system.

SpectroZIF18 is a high quality Zero Insertion Force socket mounted on a one slot wide card that plugs into your SpectroBUS18 prototyping system. SpectroZIF18 is used for 18 pin PICMicro packages that cannot be programmed in-circuit or are not "Flash" parts such as windowed devices that must be erased using "UV" erasers. If you are using parts that do not support ICSP, or must be removed from your SpectroBUS to be erased then SpectroZIF will save significant time.

Using either the SpectroZIF or SpectroBUS U1 socket for your HOST PICMicro will give identical results in all modes of operation, you can even use the ICSP connector to program the HOST PICMicro In-Circuit while using the SpectroZIF.

SpectroZIF simply makes it easier to insert and remove the HOST PICMicro during the programming and or erasing cycle.

      Features:

      • High quality Zero Insertion Force socket (ZIF) for easy insertion and removal of 18 pin DIP PICMicro’s.
      • Simply plugs into any available slot on your SpectroBUS18 development system.
      • On completion of the code development cycle, if you choose, you can remove the SpectroZIF and insert the HOST PICMicro into SpectroBUS’s U1 socket.
        • Please see the SpectroZIF18 User Manual for more information.
